I live around cattle ranchers, so I don't have any freinds that share the same views about eating. I don't eat any animal of any kind, that includes fish and any kind of poutry. I live in Texas and like you, people in CowTown don't exactly share the same sentiment about becoming vegan. I feel like I am in some kind of intervention when my friends ask me about this choice I made. I just smile and answer them honestly. I guess the years of volunteering at an animal rescue group and years of living in the Philippines (that's where I was born and raised) and eating tofu all my life doesn't make sense to them either.
