Guest guest Posted January 8, 2007 Report Share Posted January 8, 2007 Indian Vegetarian " Chicken " Curry 1 med. onion, diced 1 - 2 stalks of finely chopped celery 2 T. Smart Balance or Butter 3 T. All purpose unbleached Flour 1 t. curry powder 1 c. water 2 T. McKays or Bills Best " Chicken " like seasoning. 1 - 12.5 oz can of Worthington Fri-chik Chicken substitute http://tinyurl.com/fw3lk 1/2 c. tomato juice 2 c. cooked Basmati Rice In a med. saucepan cook the onions and celery in hot Smart Balance or butter. Stir in the flour and curry powder. Add the water, broth from the Fri-chik and " chicken seasoning " and or use the recipe below. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Dice the Fri-chik and add. Stir in the tomato juice. Simmer for 5-10 minutes. If desired season with salt. Serve over rice. " Chicken Seasoning " 1 1/3 c. Nutrititional Yeast Flakes 3 T. Onion Powder 2 1/2 t. Garlic Powder 2 1/2 t. Salt 2 T. Parsley 1/2 t. Celery Salt 2 T. Italian Seasoning 1 t. Tumeric Mix together and store in a ziplock bag for use in recipes that call for Chicken Seasoning.
