You can alter the sugar to taste in the cheese mixture or use brown sugar if you prefer. I buy frozen strawberries in syrup pop them into a pot, add a tad of thickener such as tapioca starch to thicken the syrup and then watch out. I am in my glory! I always add a spoon or two of sour cream on the tops of the toast when done and then the berries. SOOOOOOOOOO YUMMY!!!! Hope you enjoy them as much as we have through the years.
