Hope you enjoy it as much as we have over the years CHOCOLATE JUMBLES 1/3 cup soft butter or shortening 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup flour 1/4 cup cocoa 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 cup chopped walnuts 1 cup chopped dates Beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla together until smooth. Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt and cinnamon, and stir into batter. Fold in nuts and dates. Drop from a teaspoon onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 F for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool. Yields 2 1/2 dozen cookies Variation: Replace nuts and dates with coconut and chocolate chips. Replace dates with coconut. Replace dates with chocolate chips. Replace nuts with coconut. Replace nuts with chocolate chips. Replace dates with dried apricots. Replace nuts and dates with coconut and dried apricots.
