It tastes and smells like nothing else. Sometimes a recipe will say to sub it with nutmeg, I certainly do see a relationship between the two. I added it to the pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving and the guests raved, they kept saying, this is the best tasting pumpkin pie I've even eaten. I think it's my magical spice I tossed in there.
