Holiday Sage Stuffing

6 Tablespoons of olive oil

3/4 cup chopped onion

1-1/2 cup chopped celery

12 cups day-old bread torn into pieces

1-1/2 tsp. salt

3/4 tsp. pepper

3 tsp. dried sage

1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning

hot water or vegetarian chicken flavored broth

 

Place bread in a large bowl. Mix in seasonings and let set ,

covered , overnight.

Next day saute onion and celery until crisp tender.

Add to seasoned bread

Add enough hot liquid to moisten mixture. Best if medium damp not wet.

Place in an oiled, uncovered baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for

30-45 minutes or until lightly browned on top.
