Guest guest
A nasty, rainy, soup and homemade whole wheat bread day in NY. 1 package Goya sixteen bean mix 1 onion finely chopped 2 carrots finely chopped 2 stalks celery with leaves finely chopped 2 cloves garlic minced 2 veggie bouillion cubes 3/4 tspn liquid smoke (optional, but it adds a nice zip) 1 bay leaf Few dashes smoked paprika Salt & pepper to taste 6 cups water Rinse beans and cover with three cups hot water. Bring to a boil, cook for three minutes. Cover and let sit for an hour or so. Saute veggies in a little olive oil, rinse and drain beans and add to veggies. Add water, and remaining ingredients and simmer until beans are tender. A nice hearty, filling, good for you soup! TM
