Guest guest Posted November 10, 2006 Report Share Posted November 10, 2006 @@@@@ Prevention Apple Crumble with Toasted Oat Topping - 4 pts 6 medium Jonagold or Golden Delicious apples 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce 3/4 cup rolled oats 3 tablespoons toasted wheat germ 3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 tablespoon canola oil 1 tablespoon unsalted butter Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 13 inch X 9 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Combine the apples and applesauce in the prepared baking dish. In a small bowl, combine the oats, wheat germ, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add the oil and butter. Mix with your fingers to form crumbs. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the apples are bubbling.
