Guest guest
Just for the birdies, if you feed them. NOT for human consumption. Bird Cake 1 cup cornmeal 1 cup oatmeal 1 cup flour 3 teaspoons dry milk powder or 1 cup skim milk 1/2 cup ground suet (ask the butcher for this) 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs or cereal crumbs Mix together well and pat into an angelfood cake pan (Yes, another would work, this way you just tie the string through the center.) Bake at 350*F for 1 hour. Tie to branch, fence, etc. Bird Cake Number 2 1 cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky) 4 cups cornmeal 1 cup shortening 1 cup flour (whatever flour you have, that is what you use) Mix together and put out for the birds.
