I usually hydrate a cup of TVP to 7/8 cup of water and 1 T. ketchup in the microwave (a couple of minutes), then throw in a frying pan where I have browned a small onion and a clove of garlic. Add a packet of taco seasoning and whatever water they recommend, and cook it down until it reaches the consistency you want. This is great in tacos, burritos and enchiladas! Guest guest
Chelsea, let me know how you like it! I've been doing it for years and using it in all things Mexican...even reminds me a little of Taco Bell's meat, only spicier. I do love hard tacos, but my favorite way to eat this is as a burrito wrapped in a soft flour tortilla with a little chopped tomato, shredded soy cheese, lettuce and " Sour Supreme " sour cream... Enjoy! <smiles> --Celia-- Re: help - tacos Thanks Celia Posted by: " chelsea_cheetah " chelsea_cheetah chelsea_cheetah Fri Nov 3, 2006 2:55 pm (PST) I'm going to try this.
