Guest guest Posted November 3, 2006 Report Share Posted November 3, 2006 Breakfast Steamed Millet 1 cup millet 3 cups water 1 cup rich soy milk 1/4 tsp. salt (more if desired) 1 Tbsp. honey or alternative such as 1/2 cup dates (chopped) or 1 cup raisins Heat water and milk to lukewarm. Add millet and other ingredients and bring to a boil. Put in a casserole dish. Steam for 1 hour or until soft and about twice the volume. To improvise a steamer: Place casserole on a raised shelf or trivet in an 8 quart pot, deep well cooker, or steamer. Water in steamer should be boiling when hot casserole is place inside. Steam millet for one hour. Reduce heat to low and continue overnight. Water in steamer should be one inch below casserole.
