Guest guest
This sounds like a great recipe for my husband who is type II diabetic. I can see using it for a quiche. Could you substitute butter for the butter-flavored shortening? ?Use a little more butter and a little more flour to account for the moisture in the butter? I am uneasy about most shortenings [ & margarines] because most still contain hydrogenated fat. I am very careful not to serve my diabetic husband any trans fats because of recent research that indicates that they may be implicated in the development of type II diabetes.
