Guest guest
Go buy those paper wrapped firelogs at the store. They burn clean, leave no ashes, burn nonstop, without stoking and have sure pretty continuous flames. Just open your flue first and close after the fire has gone out completely. To see if it is open, just move the handle just inside the fireplace, one direction or the other and look up and see if you see daylight up thru the top of the chimney. If you do, then it is open and that is what you need when you have a fire in it. You'll get smoked out of your house if you don't. My daughter just loves to burn a firelog in ours. She put one in yesterday. It was a 5 lb one and it burned for 5 hours. It is so pretty.
