Guest guest
Here's the short version. Computer mobo (motherboard) fried due to a huge lightning strike that killed both computers, a television, two monitors and exploded an external modem. (Yes, I did have surge protectors on both machines, but this was a direct hit.) Not long after that, I couldn't breathe so I went to doc and was given an inhaler. Since I still could not breathe, went to ER, diagnosed as " hyperventilation " and told to use the inhaler every 2 hours. (This despite no wheezing and no history of asthma, but having a history of heart failure); later (6 weeks-took me 4 weeks to get an appointment to see my doctor) the problem was found to be a blood clot in the lung and some other piddly heart silliness. I swear I am going to grow fur, get down on all fours and go to my vet the next time I need medical care. (We have a great vet.) Since I was not able to do the rebuild (not being able to breathe was a bit irritating), my computer went to a friend for the rebuild. UPS, now thought of as OOPS! brought my lovely new machine back and dumped it off the truck. Literally. Instant really expensive door stop. The remains went back to my friend who rebuilt it again and I am finally back online. (And gaming...hell for a computer gamer is not being able to game.) Thankfully the data on the hard drives was not lost, though a lot of the other hardware was toast. Anyway, I'm back, sort of. Missed you guys.Jeanne in Georgia PS: what's this silliness about no green leafy veggies while on blood thinners? Shoot me now and get it over with.
