Guest guest
I've never met an olive I didn't like.....I used to sneak anchovy stuffed olives when I was waiting tables (before I got vegetarian), garlic stuffed, regular old Spanish olives, canned olives, Calamati olives.... Too bad I have high blood pressure, I truly don't need the salt. Pickles are another weakness...and don't get me started on chocolate. Guest guest
Have you tried bluecheese stuffed jumbo green olives? I " discovered " them at the olive bar at a local supermarket a little while ago. They have all the different color cured olives and garlic stuffed olives, hot pepper stuffed olives, etc. I can't go in that store without buying some of every kind they have, they are so good!! Guest guest
In the meanwhile, why not try making your own version? You can buy plain pitted olives at the olive bar, cube up some soy cheese, sprinkle on herbs, garlic, etc. and stuff the olives. Hmmm, I think I have to go shopping for olives now!!! Guest guest
well, the thing is, *blue* is what I really miss. I always thought milk was nasty, and most domestic cheeses never impressed me. a few imports are good....but blue, oh, I miss blue (and yes, I went for import). The tofu that I can get (it's made at the " local " commune) has a similar texture....but how would I get that " blue " taste?? I would be afraid of getting a bad strain, and killing myself off or something..... On 10/12/06, jandor9 <jandor9 wrote: > > In the meanwhile, why not try making your own version? Guest guest
A couple months ago I scored an imported blue that specifically said vegetable rennet on the label. It was good but when I went back for more (even tho it was $$!) I couldn't find it again. Now whenever I see blue cheeses I read all the labels just in case but no luck yet. Peace, Diane ps I've noticed the non-imports all just say " Enzymes " . , " PuterWitch " <puterwitch wrote: > > I wonder if there is any Blue with no rennet? > > hugs, > Chanda > - > Thia .... > > Thursday, October 12, 2006 3:04 PM > Re: Re: lemon in water > >
