My ex was a pumpkin purist and it had to be like mama used to make (she grew her own and called them cheese pumpkins...squat in shape and tan in color), he said the canned pumpkin always tasted metallic but I think it was all in his head. Once I got rid of him, I became liberated and have since only used canned pumpkin. Have had no complaints thus far.
