Guest guest
This makes a delicious loaf of sweet bread. I can't stay out of it when it pops out of the pan. Cardamom Sweet Bread 1/2 cup butter or marg. room temp 3/4 cup sugar (I use raw) 1 large egg 2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/4 tsps. ground cardamom 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 cup buttermilk 1/2 tsp. salt Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9 X 5 loaf pan In a mixing bowl combine flour, cardamom, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Cream together in a separate bowl the butter and sugar. Beat in the egg. Add the creamed mixture alternately with the buttermilk to the flour mixture. Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool pan 10 minutes on wire rack. Remove bread and finish cooling on rack.
