Heart Smart -- Waldorf Salad

Waldorf Salad

Heart Healthy recipe. Packed with heart-healthy nuts and

nutrient-rich fruits and veggies, this low-fat salad is a treat!

 

1/4 cup fat free mayonnaise or Miracle Whip salad dressing

1/4 cup plain fat free yogurt

1 TB lemon juice

1 TB fat free (skim) milk

12 cup unpeeled red apple, finely diced

1 cup unpeeled Granny Smith apple, finely diced

1 cup celery, finely diced

2 TB coarsely chopped nuts

Salad greens, if desired

 

1.  Mix mayonnaise, yogurt, lemon juice and milk in medium bowl.

 

2.  Stir in apples, celery and nuts. Serve on salad greens. Cover and

refrigerate any remaining salad.

 

Yield: 4 servings.
