Guest guest Posted December 12, 2006 Report Share Posted December 12, 2006 Russian Tea Cakes Ingredients 1 cup butter 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 2 1/4 cups flour 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts Cream shortening; add sugar; cream again. Add salt and flour to creamed mixture. Work in well with hands. Blend in vanilla and nuts. chill for an hour or so, then form into 1-inch balls. Place about 2 1/2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350º for 10 to 12 minutes. These do not spread and should not brown. While warm, roll in confectioners' sugar.
