Guest guest Posted December 4, 2006 Report Share Posted December 4, 2006 I made this the other night and it is excellent. crust- 1 1/2 c. flour 3/4 tsp. salt 6 tbsp. butter @ room temp. 3/8 c. shortening 4 1/2 tbsp. ice water Mix flour, salt, butter, and shortening with fork until shortening is the size of small peas. Add ice water and mix to pastry consistency. Refrigerate while preparing filling. filling- 3/4 small can green beans 3/4 small can peas 1 med. potato, cut into 1/2 " cubes 1 carrot, sliced 1 large mushroom, cut into cubes 2 green onions, white and light green parts, sliced 1 clove garlic, crushed 1/2 bag Morningstar Farms Meal Starters Chik'n Strips, cut into small pieces 1 can cream of mushroom soup about 1/2 c. vegetable broth 1/2 tsp. each sage, thyme, and oregano Boil potatoes and carrots until nearly done, then add mushrooms and onions and boil until carrots and potatoes are soft. Drain. Add green beans, peas, garlic, and MSF strips. Mix well and add mushroom soup, vegetable broth, and spices. Mix again. Cover bottom and sides of a 2 qt. baking dish with dough. Fill with filling and cover with remaining crust. Bake about 1 hour, or until the crust turns light brown. Kadee Sedtal Build a man a fire and he'll stay warm for a day.
