The reason why so many people think animal protein is better because animal protein has all necessary amino acids, whereas one must consume a variety of plant foods to acquire all necessary aminos. Mixing plenty of dark leafy greens with beans, whole grains and potatoes are a wonderful way to get your full range of aminos but these need to be consumed in large quantities. If hubby is looking to build a HUGE physique, like that of Mr. Universe or something, then lacto-ovo vegetarianism is the way to go. All or mostly meat diets may have complete protein however its more fat and cholesterol than anything else. For adults and children just wanting to be lean and healthy, vegetarian diets are awesome because they are low fat, low cholesterol, low cal, and studies have revealed that veg children are less likely to have diseases and some types of cancer in adulthood.
