Guest guest
hi kerry and welcome! i hope you enjoy this group. i was raised on a vegetarian diet and i'm raising my son on a vegetarian diet. he's almost 7 and he's very proud he doesn't eat meat. he's active, healthy, and exceptionally smart. when he was about 9 months old, his pediatrician gave me a hard time about not feeding him meat. blood tests showed he was borderline anemic. they insisted i give him meat, but i didn't. instead i upped his intake of green peas, brown rice, green beans and spinach and by the next visit his iron levels were fine. he's a picky eater now. i make sure to supplement his diet with a good natural multi-vitamin and shakes made with protein powder. glad to have you here, susie --- kmgray2002 <graykerry wrote: > Hello! > I just stumbled upon this group on Saturday and I'm > glad I found > it. Guest guest
Rrgh, my e-mail has not been working today... not the anyway. Well hi Kerry, and welcome. Both my children are vegetarian, and there's not a thing in the world wrong with raising kids that way. You've been a vegetarian long enough to know how to eat right, and that will certainly be a big help whatever you choose for your future children. My husband is not vegetarian, but he eats what I cook at home and when we go out, and it's never been an issue with what would be fed to the kids. If your hubby is willing to work with you on it, it shouldn't be too tough. I'm so glad to have e-mails in my inbox again, I got only three e-mails today! Talk about feeling unwanted. I am sad to say a lot of so-called doctors push people into diets, and taking drugs, etc etc... they really DO NOT need. They do this just to ensure they have future/ repeat " " BUSINESS " " ! Even a few nurses have said the same thing. One of my patients told me " Once they start cutting on you, it's all over. It will continuously be one thing after another for the rest of your life. " She speaks from experience. I am not saying all doctors and medical worker are this way, but there are many who are. Susie, I applaud you for standing your ground. I have been a Vegetarian a little over a month. I do not miss meat. I feel more connected to nature, and especially to the other animals. I think we set off an " Aura " that seperates us from the meat eaters. And I think the other animals are more drawn to us because of it. Call me crazy, but that is what my " Heart " tells me. Secret Shadow Paws Only those who are INSECURE about their religion, try to convert others. Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail.
