Guest guest Posted October 22, 2006 Report Share Posted October 22, 2006 Onion Dip 1-1/2 sweet onion (such as Vidalia or Walla Walla), chopped 2 TB margarine or butter 1 carton (8 oz.) dairy sour cream 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper 1/8 tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne) 4 tsp. fresh chives, snipped Milk, optional Dippers -- chips and raw veggies 1. In a medium skillet cook onion in margarine or butter about 5 minutes or until tender. Cool. 2. In a blender container or food processor bowl combine cooked onion, sour cream, salt, black pepper, and red pepper. Cover and blend or process until nearly smooth. 3. Transfer to a small bowl. Stir in chives. Cover and chill 1 to 24 hours. 4. Before serving, stir in additional milk, a teaspoon at a time, if necessary, to make of dipping consistency.
