Guest guest
I just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone that responded to my e-mail about my grandparents. Both of my grandparents are now in the same nursing home just in different wings. My grandfather is doing well with not being able to be with my grandmother 24/7. He is being very social and that has never been him. I think in a way that him having to go to the home is bringing him out of his shell. My mother and him are even getting along better now. We go and see them everyday, I try and go at dinner time because my grandmother needs help and I want to make sure that my grandfather eats. After my grandmother gets done with her physical therapy she will move in with my parents, we are just not sure about my grandfather? I have bought my grandparents each a journal so that we can keep up on the things that they do day to day. My grandmother has kept a journal all her life so why stop now, she will just tell me what to wright! Everyone thanks again for all of the support! Guest guest
Sounds like things are going pretty well. I know that putting someone somewhere against their wishes is so hard. I'm not looking forward to when that happens for our family. I pray that all continues to go well. It is wonderful that you haven't abandoned them in the nursing home, as so many folks do. I worked at a nursing home, many years ago and it just broke my heart, how few, had family that actually ever came to visit them. That has got to be so lonely and sad for them.
