Guest guest
Earlier today I posted a few crockpot recipes which spoke of pre- heating the crockpot. This is what was recommended by the recipe book I adapted 2 of the recipes from. I should have explained that I have not used this pre-heating method myself and generally heat the ingredients to boiling before adding them to my crockpot on Auto setting. Someone emailed me directly to ask if pre-heating was safe. I checked my crockpot instruction manual which makes no mention of pre- heating. I am fairly inexperienced in crockpot cooking. I would suggest that people check their crockpot instruction manual before pre- heating. In any case, it works perfectly well without, so if in doubt, leave that part of the recipe instructions out. Do any experienced crockpotters out there have the answer? TIA Christie
