Guest guest Posted September 16, 2006 Report Share Posted September 16, 2006 Amish Pumpkin Bread 1-2/3 cup flour 1/4 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 3/4 Tbl salt 1/2 Tbl cinnamon 1/2 Tbl nutmeg 1/3 c shortening 1-1/3 c sugar 1/2 Tbl vanilla 2 eggs 1 c canned pumpkin Stir flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices Cream shortening, sugar, vanilla before adding eggs one at a time and beating thoroughly after each addition Stir in pumpkin Add dry ingredients, alternating with water, beating just until smooth.
