Guest guest
Well, I got back from Spokane Saturday evening. I had a heart cath and Nuclear Stress Test and they tested my ICD (defibrillator). The heart cath revealed two blockages. The one blockage is in a tiny " Y " shaped vein. Only one side of the " Y " is blocked, but if they unblock it the other side will automatically clog up. Another blockage in a bigger vein is the only " live " blood flow to the small " live " tissue left in my heart. The cardiologist and his constituents are in disagreement about the extent of the blockage. Some of them say it's 60% and some of them say it 70%. And the bad news is, none of them will operate and insert a stent. If they did, and they ran into trouble, they would have no alternatives for a backup. They say it would be instant death for me, and none of them are willing to take the chance. So they have opted to send me home to " give me more time " at home enjoying my family. So the next step is my GI guy. I'm having so much pain, they want to make sure I don't have an ulcer or the reflux stuff going on again. I'm supposed to get oxygen in the house to ease the pain. They have gotten me the strongest nitro patches and they just aren't doing a very good job. The only relief I got from the pain, was when they put me on oxygen in the hospital. So hopefully, we can get that delivered today. I'm sure I'll be more comfortable. I'm sure with a few days rest, I'll be feeling much better and going full swing again. Hang in there guys...better days are coming; it's just a little rough patch for me right now. Keep on cookin' and collecting those great recipes. love from, Joanie

Guest guest
Are you on a special diet? If not, have you considered it? For example, Dr. Dean Ornish's program: http://www.webmd.com/content/pages/9/3068_9408.htm Here's a link to his Reversing Heart Disease book: http://www.amazon.com/Ornish-Program-Reversing-Heart- Disease/dp/0804110387/ (note: you may have to copy and paste this link together in your browser, if it goes to two lines) Hope this helps, -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , grow514 wrote: > > Well, I got back from Spokane Saturday evening.
