Guest guest
Dear Mary, Beans Sprout is really cheap and cheerful. You get these in most Supermarkets but I am in UK and can not advise you which Supermarket in the States. Maybe someone here can tell you where your nearest Chinese Supermarket is located. But they will need to know where you are located first, ha, lol You just need to browned the garlic/onion and then stir-fry the beans sprouts all together. When the stems start to become somewhat transparent, they are ready to serve. You dress them with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. You can also garnish them with some chopped spring onions to make it mre colourful and appetising We used Olive oil to browned the onions but you can also used peanut oil or vegetable oil or sesame oil to brown the onion/garlic. You can apply the same stir-fry methods to most vegetables you can buy cheaply in the States. I have an allotment and right now, I have Bok Choy, Runner Beans, Zulchini, Cabbages, Leeks, Spring Onions, Tomatoes and Chinese Brocoli. In the Summer, I NEVER need to buy a single veg' I let some go to seed deliberately to get next year's seeds Alternatively, you can " boil " the veg(any veg) till they reach the right consistency of your preference. I prefer it " just about done " when they still have their natural colour and just before they become overcook. Then just make a nice sauce and pour over it. They are too many sauces in the files folder to list here. When I am in a real hurry, I cheat by using ready-made-paste. My favorite one is " Tom-Yam Paste " , which is also available in most Chinese Supermarket. Holler if you need more help Best Wishes, Wee On Behalf Of Mary Wednesday, August 23, 2006 4:34 PM A request Hello everyone!
