Guest guest
> How do you typically plan out your meals? During the summer months I was pretty slack in my planning of meals. Typically I like to sit down once a week and go through the files here or my extensive vegetarian and omnivore cookbook collection and plot out a few new dishes to try along with some old favorites. > Are you a once-a-month organized type, more of a > spontanious pantry raider, or something in between? I used to be a once a month menu planner and a twice a week food shopper. I was so organized it was scary! *lol* Not anymore though. I am more of a once a week shopper for the things I might be missing from my pantry to make the dishes I have chosen. I would like to get all super organized again though. That once a month thing was freeing Having grocery lists all made up and hanging on the refrigerator was also nice. It takes a lot of discipline and I would like to get back to it when back-to-school season forces all of us with kids back into a more steady routine. > Share some tips for meal planning that have worked for > you. I am sure we will all learn something useful from > eachother. Those big desk blotter calendars are wonderful menu planning spaces. You can try to figure out ahead what events are happening and then choose the meal to prepare that day based on the time involved in making it. Another way I like to keep meals interesting is to plan days of the week by different themes... Example: Monday ~ cook Italian foods Tuesday ~ foods with Asian flare [Chinese, Thai, Japanese, etc] Wednesday ~ Tex-Mex etc. ~ PT ~ " Nature is the storehouse of potential life of future generations and is sacred.
