Guest guest
Just a re-post of our questions of the week. If you haven't had time to answer them yet, here is your chance anew to let us know your thoughts. These questions are for August 13th thru 19th, '06: How do you typically plan out your meals? Are you a once-a-month organized type, more of a spontanious pantry raider, or something in between? Share some tips for meal planning that have worked for you. I am sure we will all learn something useful from eachother.

I do it day by day, meal by meal usually. I do almost always plan my lunch and pack my lunchbox the night before to bring to work the next day. I will often decide what I'm going to eat for breakfast the night before as well. If I'm just having something like cold cereal & fruit, I will actually portion out the cereal and weight/wash/prepare the fruit the night before. I have to weigh/measure everything to get an accurate carb count so I know how much insulin to take. Doing it the night before means one less thing to deal with in the morning. I am NOT a morning person! For dinner it's usually a last minute thing. I decide what to have when I get home from work. If I've made something in the previous days and have leftovers, I'll just have that. > Share some tips for meal planning that have worked > for > you. If I don't have leftovers I'll fix something quick, or maybe a frozen dinner (I have some Amy's frozen meals in the freezer...mmmm.....). Later on I will often cook for the following day's lunch/dinner. I've already eaten and I'm not in a rush to get it done and that works for me. Cooking on the weekends also works. I'm just cooking for myself so if a recipe is big, I'll freeze half of it and leave the other half in the fridge to have over several meals. I don't mind eating the same thing over & over for a few meals/days in row. -- Liz
