Guest guest
Hi Patty, Hormones are also in the chickens and non organic dairy products. If you don't want to give those up, shop for free range chicken or grass fed beef (or other wild meat)., and organic poultry and produce....I am not a fan of any meat, but if you know people or companies who raise organic beef or chickens, it is better than buying from producers who inject hormones and feed genetically modified corn to animals. I am thinking that children are becomming more heavy, and girls more developed from the hormones in meats and dairy. When shopping look for organic (fresh, frozen or canned) that is the bottom line...supposedly the label cannot read organic if it has been modified or grown with pesticides or any animal by product (such as bone meal). I buy eggs from a person I know uses feed with no additives and lets his chickens free range. When I get cheese, I look for the Amish brand...I am sure there are others that do not use hormones. How about the water you drink..is it filtered, pure or chemical laden? Baby steps are the way to go. I decided to become a vegetarian after reading a book explaining about the chemicals that are put into the meat I eat. I have been taking baby steps towards this transition and so far it seems to be going well, but there are still a few more steps to take. I still need to quit eating chicken and eggs. My name is Patty, I am 42 and I live in Illinois outside of St. Louis. I have been going through the past messages for information, but any suggestions are welcome.
