Guest guest
Welcome, Cristina. I am a newbie, too, and it is harder when your hubby is a meat eater. I try to fix some sides of vegetables that I think he will eat...I read that there is protein in most fruits and vegetables, so if we eat lots of those and incorporate some grains and nuts, we should be ok. I didn't know they ate mostly meat. I guess I always assumed there would be a diet rich in island fruits and veggies. I hope we can be of help to you as you make the dietary transition for yourself. We have loads of wonderful recipes in the files and more recipes shared each day for you to choose from. Guest guest
My husband isn't completely vegetarian, but he never eats it at home and only rarely when we go out to eat. If he does eat it, it is only the clean meat. He grew up a meat eater, but knew when we were dating that it grossed me out way to much to ever prepare it or have it prepared in my home. Even the fumes of meat cooking is repulsive to me or it being cooked in the things I cook with. He quickly adapted his taste buds to enjoy the Meat Substitutes that I prepare frequently and now he loves them. It was no big deal. It's all a matter of retraining taste buds to like new things. He eats a lot more variety of Veggies now also. I am trying new things all the time and we never get in a rut with meals. I love cooking. : )) Yes you are right. Most everything has some protein in it so all is fine. Judy - MaryAnne Crites Thursday, August 03, 2006 1:42 PM Re: Re: newbie here-Cristina Welcome, Cristina.
