Double Wheat Waffles

Recipe from Tracy Parker, Keystone, SD.

 

2 eggs

2 cups buttermilk

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1-1/2 cups all purpose flour

1/4 cup wheat germ

3 TB sugar

1 tsp. baking soda

1/4 cup butter or stick margarine, melted

 

Heat waffle iron.

 

Beat eggs and add remaining ingredients.

Using a a hand held electric beater, beat until smooth.

 

Pour batter from a cup into the center of the waffle iron, bake 5 minutes or

until steaming stops.

 

Carefully remove waffles and serve immediately.
