I bought red (and yellow) curry sauce in an Indian/oriental market...the brand

is Maesri (chili 35 %)

shallots 20 %, garlic 17%, galangal 5%, salt 5%, curry powder 5%, spices 3%,

and (in the yellow curry paste, lemon grass 10%)

I wonder why yours has no shrimp paste.

I see something called Mae Ploy

Ingredients: Garlic, shallots, lemongrass, salt,

galangal, kaffir lime peel, coriander seed, mace,

cinnamon, tumeric, and cumin. No preservative and

colorant added.

Ah this is interesting

" To be sure the curry paste is vegan, I recommend Thai

Kitchen brand. I've had some nasty surprises when

using the kind in cans (MaeSri brand) at the Asian

market. It may not say " shrimp paste " on the label,

but if you check this website, it's listed there.

Plus, where there should be no cholesterol if it's

vegan, often there will be some amount listed in the

nutritional breakdown. Use caution! "

" ..this website.. " from above is the same one

I noted in an earlier email
