It is Friday, so maybe you have plans to dine out? I am going to try vegetarianizing a crock-pot recipe I found over on an omnivore crock-pot cooking group on . slowcooker/ The recipe is for a baked ziti and the claim is you don't have to boil the pasta and it will come out perfectly, so we shall see. If it comes out well I will post it here tomorrow when I fix it vegetarian. You can find a lot of good recipes on non-veg cooking groups if you enjoy the challenge of converting dishes. ~ PT ~ A new idea is rarely born like Venus attended by graces. Guest guest
Everything in the baked ziti contains protein. The pasta, cheese, TVP crumbles, etc. Even the garlic bread has it! *lol* Pretty much everything we eat has some protein in it. Read the labels next time you are fixing something for dinner and add up the grams of protein in the stuff you plan to consume. A woman my size and age needs only about 45 to 55 grams a day, and I usually eat 20 or more per meal, so am getting plenty. The protein worry for vegetarians is mostly hype, IMO. So long as you eat a variety of foods and in a healthy manner, you will get enough. I hear this a lot from omnivores when they discover I am a vegetarian, so I am always prepared with an answer. ~ PT ~ There was an Old Woman lived under the hill And if she's not gone, she lives there still. ~ traditional British rhyme ~~~*~~~*~~~> , MaryAnne Crites <suzyq_26201 wrote: > > What will be your protein? > > M.A.
