Makes 12 biscuits 2 cups Flour 1 tbsp Baking powder 1/2 tsp Salt 1/3 cup Butter, at room temperature, cut into pieces 1 cup Grated sharp Cheddar cheese 2 tbsp Chopped fresh chives 1 cup Milk Additional chopped fresh chives Bake these herb biscuits shortly before serving. To prepare part of the recipe early on in the day, place dry ingredients in a bowl. Cut in butter, add cheddar cheese and chives then cover and refrigerate. While oven is preheating, stir in the milk, drop dough onto baking sheet and pop them in the oven. Preheat oven to 400°F [200°C] Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Cut in butter using a fork to make coarse crumbs. Add cheddar cheese and chives. Stir in milk to make a soft sticky dough. Drop 12 heaping tablespoonfuls onto a large greased baking sheet.
