Hello Lisa. I know exactly what you mean.

It is just easier to tell folks you are vegetarian

and leave the extra labels off; so many

have no clue what the lacto or ovo additions

mean.

So are there a lot of shopping and dining out

options for vegetarians available in your area?

Besides the usual Mexican and Italian options, the best place here is

PF Changs. The food is wonderful, everything vegetarian is clearly

marked, and the waiters always know what's in the food that isn't

veggy, even things I would never have noticed.

I don't know any other vegetarians, although most people I talk to

about it seem to admire the idea they think it's harder than it really

is. I think keeping labels to a minimum makes it less intimidating.
