Guest guest
If he's 18 months old she probably doesn't need to sneak anything into him. at least I know my 18 month olds were easy eaters (I have one now as well as three others who were once that age), they didnt get picky until around 2. My son has allergies to nuts of all kinds, eggs, dairy (even goat products), corn and coffee. My 3 yr old is allergic to all forms of dairy as well, cow and goat. We tailor our meals around that or make a smaller portion for him without the stuff they can't have. You just have to cook from scratch, not eat out much and read every single label and know what every single ingredient is. I just found the book Special Foods for Special Kids and it's great, it's all kid friendly stuff (not vegetarian) geared toward the most common food allergies. meg On 6/27/06, kcmendola <KCMendola wrote: > > Hello All. > > My cousin has an 18 month old son who is currently being tested for food > allergies. Guest guest
Hi Kort, great questions. That is so awesome she is open to trying some more veggie foods. I haven't tried making my own nut butters yet but I really like tahini. As far as tofu goes, you can mash it and mix it into so many things. Great with ricotta cheese and stuffed into pasta shells or lasagne rolls. Your idea for mixing it with the broccoli is a good one. Veggie Dogs... I've probably tried them all. Pretty much have the same opinion of them too, and that is they are weird texture, but yummy if you fry them in a bit of butter and serve with lots of spicy mustard and dill pickle relish! *lol* The best textured ones, IMO, are the little vegi dogs made by Worthington that come in a can; those guys are dinky [small] though, but that might be good for a toddler. ~ PT ~ Life is not the way it's supposed to be.
