Guest guest Posted June 12, 2006 Report Share Posted June 12, 2006 Marinara Sauce 1 TB extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) 1 large onion, diced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 can (30 oz.) tomato puree 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce 1 TB sugar 1 tsp. Italian seasoning mix, or to taste 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes, or to taste, optional 1/4 cup red wine Heat the oil in pan, and sauté the onion until soft. Add the garlic and cook a few minutes, stirring frequently. Add the tomato puree, sauce, sugar, Italian seasoning, red pepper and wine. Simmer on low heat, for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
