" Asian Slaw " 1/2 head of a large white, gree, red, savory or your favorite cabbage finely chopped 2 carrots shredded 1/2 cup rice vinegar 3 Tblpns. sesame oil 3 Tblpns. soy sauce 1 Tblpn. sugar 1 Tblspn. ginger, fresh minced or grated 3 Tblspn. toasted sesame seeds 1/2 cup salted peanuts 1/2 cup fresh cilantro chopped Note* I use dry roasted cashews instead of peanuts just because I love them and I also add a little chopped onion and one garlic clove minced Place cabbage, carrots, peanuts, sesame seeds and cilantro in a large bowl and set aside. In a small bowl mix vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar and ginger. Mix well or place in a glass jar with a lid and shake well. Pour over salad and toss. Chill and serve. Guest guest Posted May 12, 2006 Report Share Posted May 12, 2006 Yum! This sounds so good. There is a restaurant in town here that makes a wonderful slaw that i just love, and they add ginger to it. Theirs has some mayo, but it isn't overyly creamy so i don't think they use much. Sometimes when i go there i just order a bowl of that and some chips [fries] with malt vinegar and i am in heaven.
