Guest guest
Oh, my word Paula...you want your cake and you want to eat it too. I discovered my daughter using my " mug " the other day and had a regular hissy fit. I have just one favorite mug with a Native American motif. I share everything and anything with her, but NOT my mug. She looked at me as if I had lost my mind. Now I stick it in a different cupboard so that someone can't forget that this one is off limits. Did I feel not so nice? Only momentarily, and now I dare her to use it. Somehow the darn mug has taken on a sacredness to it. linda linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. My mug is a very important part of the morning when I first get up! It needs to be big enough to hold a good cup of coffee with about half a cup of soymilk added to it, and it needs to have a good bottom on it so it can balance on the sofa cushion while I'm turning the pages of the paper. It also needs to be substanstial enough that I don't worry about breaking it when I set it down on the tile floor by the chair I end up sitting in when my husband gets to the sofa first before me! LOL....!! But, on the other hand, I don't want it so thick that it's uncomfortable to sip out of it. And, of course, I want it to be pretty to look at! Here's a little confession--when we have company visiting, I always get a little proprietary about my few personal favorite coffee cups....and I kind of...well....put them at the back of the shelf so they can't be seen. A few times a visitor has ferreted one out, and inside I was thinking " you can't use that! That's *my* coffee cup! " Outside, I was all smiles! I don't feel this sense of possessiveness about any of my other dishes! Paula On Wed, 3 May 2006 16:26:33 EDT glpveg4life writes: I also love coffee mugs. Before I was married both my older sister and I were told we couldn't have anymore coffee mugs.
