Guest guest
I have banana, orange and strawberry smoothies w/ vanilla soy often for breakfast.--I even throw in a handful of raw oatmeal which makes it even healthier and richer. My own recipe~ Ingredients: One to one-half banana frozen banana (according to size) (approx) 4 strawberries (fresh or frozen) or 1 Tabsp. strawberry preserves 2/3 C vanilla soy milk 1/3 C orange juice 1 teasp. vanilla (optional) 1 handful raw oatmeal (I use either quick- cooking and old fashioned oatmeal) artificial sweetener (optional) I freeze very ripe bananas (in their skins) and when I make my smoothie, I take one banana out of the freezer and hold it under hot water for a few seconds.(If the banana is large, I cut the banana in half and re-freeze the half I'm not using) Then I cut the skin off with a sharp knife and slice it before tossing it in the mixer with the rest of the ingred. --The reason I prefer frozen bananas is because this makes the smoothie nice and cold without having to add ice cubes (which dilutes the flavor). Put all above ingredients into your blender and blend and liquefy very well, so that the mixture is smooth and frothy. (Yum!) This is rich, delicious and very filling. Enjoy! Guest guest
What a great recipe! Thanks, Tia! My kids didn't know they were slurping down oats. Very cool.
