Guest guest
I made a little brunch about 10:30am and tried this recipe. Very good! I'm going to split one open and make a sandwich later with avocado. Cornmeal Sage Scones 1 1/4 all purpose flour 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese 2 rsps. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 tsp. dried sage crumbles 1/4 cup margarine or butter 3/4 cup buttermilk ***** Heat oven to 425 F. and spray a cookie sheet or pizza pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl combine flour, cornmeal, cheese, baking soda, baking powder, salt and sage. With a pastry blender or fork, cut in the margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk, stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. On a lightly floured surface, gently knead dough 10 times. Place on sprayed cookie sheet, roll or [at dough into 6 1/2-inch round. Cut into 8 wedges, do not separate. Bake at 425 F for 20 to 25 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet, cool 5 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve warm. **** To sub. the buttermilk use 2 1/4 tsps. vinegar or lemon juice and milk to make 3/4 cups. If I'm free, it's because I'm all ways running. Guest guest
This sounds good. We love using Yellow Cornmeal. It adds a little crunch to things your put in. Try putting fresh Rosemary instead of sage in it and I think you love that also. We really like that. Guest guest
I had such good luck with my basil herb last year I planted lots of herbs this year. I plant them in about 18 inch pots with Miracle Grow potting soil. They are doing great, now if I just knew what to do with them :-O I will try the Rosemary scones :-)
