Guest guest
i love these quick, easy no-yeast bread sticks. They make great pretzels; it is all how you arrange them. Sprinkle with coarse salt instead of the sesame seeds, or do both! Mmmmm Soft Breadsticks 1 1/4 cups flour 2 tsp sugar 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 2/3 cup milk 3 Tbs butter or margarine, melted 2 tsp sesame seeds In a small bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Gradually add milk and stir to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface, knead gently 3-4 times. Roll into a 10 inch x 5 inch x 1/2 inch rectangle; cut into 12 breadsticks. Place butter in a 13 in. x 9 in. x 2 in. baking pan. Place breadstick in the butter and turn to coat. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 450 for 14-18 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. Yield: 1 dozen ~ pt ~ A bad day can help you glean wisdom you might otherwise have overlooked or discounted. Bad days can certainly cause you to experience uncomfortable feelings you would prefer to avoid, yet a bad day may also give you a potent means to learn about yourself. ~ DailyOM, 'Finding the Gift'
Guest guest
My understanding is pretzels are more like bagels than breadsticks. The trick being to briefly boil them before baking. This keeps the insides nice and moist and CHEWY, while the outsides crisp up. -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , " ~ PT ~ " <patchouli_troll wrote: > > i love these quick, easy no-yeast bread sticks. > They make great pretzels; it is all how you arrange them. > Sprinkle with coarse salt instead of the sesame seeds, or do > both!
