Let's face it, historically, law enforcement, by and large, has rarely if ever, benevolently "served" communities across America, as much as it has TERRORIZED its citizens by victimizing them and continuously overstepping its legal authority. The Patriot Act gives even more sweeping power to all levels of law enforcement to basically oversee themselves--the Constitution no longer exists and people need to be AWARE of this and adjust their attitudes toward anyone representing the gov't, accordingly. It is becoming common to hear stories on a daily basis of innocent, companion animals being brutally murdered by police/gov't agents, unconstitutionally breaking and entering into "suspects" homes [being regarded as a suspect now means the gov't doesn't need a shred of proof, and ANYTHING can and will be construed as a crime] and slaughtering an inquisitive

or sleeping animal because s/he MAY be a POTENTIAL threat. The attitude that non-humans are expendable, prolifically bleeds into cops/gov't agents treatment of society as a whole--every ONE and everything is a threat. These scenarios will only get worse unless and until there is oversight of local police and state agencies BY THE CITIZENS of each state, who pay their salaries and to whom they must be held accountable. Otherwise, we will all continue to be prisoners of this type of unconscionable conduct, carried out by bullies trained in sociopathic behavior, via a locked-down, fear-based society. Tragically, gov't endorsed, jackbooted thuggery is now global.BrennanThe concept of 'animal rights' values the simple premise that ALL living creatures have a "right" to be allowed to live their lives without victimization--free from brutality. It is a right that EVERY being strives for. ~Brennan

Man IS superior to every other being...in his ability to excuse away those parts of himself too vile for self-examination. ~Brennan Browne~--- On Tue, 6/16/09, Cornwalls Voice for Animals <cvfa.uk wrote:Cornwalls Voice for Animals <cvfa.uk[AnimalsInNeed] Police shoot runaway Chihuahua in "SELF-DEFENSE""Animals Advocates" <animalsadvocates >Tuesday, June 16, 2009, 3:54 AM

[Fwd: Police shoot runaway Chihuahua in "SELF-DEFENSE" ]

Will somebody please tell me what in the hell is going on in America????Why are police officers so gun crazy that they keep shooting and killingpeople's beloved pets? This is the second case I have heard of this week, add these to the list of the many others I have read in the last year orso and it seems like the police authority in the US should have an urgentreview of their policy towards neighbourhood and community policing andtake a damn good and thorough training review too, regarding how to dealwith pets that get out of the garden!! If they can't be trusted to carry agun without shooting a tiny Chihuahua then take the gun away from them andmake them get a job in sales or something! What are these police officersteaching children? As if there isn't enough crime and cruelty within theyounger generation right now, the police seem to be setting a very bad andvery extreme and hysterical example of how 'not' to take care of thepublic and the public's animal welfare issues, i.e. a tiny dog that slipsout of the backyard! Is this really an offence that requires bullets andbloodshed, resulting in the death of a family pet? Where is thecompassion, where is the love and where is the patience, restraint andprofessionalism? Do we not expect at least one or two of these qualitiesfrom officers of the law? Or are we becoming a society that lives by a'shoot now, think later' mentality?Mariahttp://www.maria- daines.com http://www.myspace. com/mariadaines http://www.myspace. com/justiceforre gina http://www.myspace. com/musicunitedf oranimals Please visit the great work of Mary Alice Pollard'Cornwall's Voice For Animals'http://www.cornwall svoiceforanimals .org/Welcome. html ------------ --------- ---------- --------- -------Police shoot runaway Chihuahua in "SELF-DEFENSE" "Dr. Grabowski Fredy" <straydogsworldwide@ .de> Mon, June 15, 2009 9:25 am "Renate Adamietz" <renateadamietz@ aol.com>------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------Police shoot runaway Chihuahua in 'self defense':http://www.wcpo. com/news/ local/story/ Family-Outraged- After-Officer- Shoots-Their- Dog/s8GbE4dftEig qCUBVDkUzA. cspx
