Guest guest Posted June 9, 2009 Report Share Posted June 9, 2009 Dear friends of Environmental Journalists, Climate change is one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, and is a top priority for the Environmental Journalists.I am writing to request your help in finding out more about your / your organization´s work on Climate change. The 18th APFEJ World Congress of Environmental Journalists on Climate Change and Media will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanak from 19 -22 October 2009. This year's theme is " Educate to end Climate Poverty " . The main Conference themes listed below are not exhaustive and papers that are relevant may also be included: • Bio diversity, rights and Livelihood • Climate Change and Vulnerable Communities in Poorer Countries • Climate Change, Bio diversity & Food Security in Asia pacific • Climate poverty Alleviation and the role of the Media • Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) and Tackling Climate change • Education for Sustainable Development(ESD) in the 21st century • Education, Training and Public Awareness in Climate Change • Frontlines of climate change: global climate change debates • Human Settlements, global financial crisis and climate change • Media Coverage of environmental issues and climate change in around the globe • Waste Water re-uses - Stakes, Experience and Research • Water for the 21st Century: Vision to Action Abstracts will be accepted until 10 July.They should be a maximum of 300 words,in English. Notification of acceptance will be sent by July 30,2009. Deadline for submitting application for capacity building workshops and satellite sessions is August 31, 2009.We encourage all interested parties to apply.
