Guest guest
From Animal Rights China:   To Whom It May Concern:  We recently received many emails through out websites that are begging us to spread this bad news and to speak out for them and their dogs.  We are astonished by the shocking news from the city of “hei He†in Hei Long Jiang Province and the country of “Yang Xian†in the Shan Xi Province in China, where the local government has given their orders to KILL ALL THE DOGS in those two areas! Repeat, ALL dogs, no matter if they have had rabies or not, and no matter if they are strays or pets! The local governments are striving to become the first dog-free city (country) in China at whatever cost it may take! This massive massacre had already caused TENS OF THOUSANDS of poor dogs to be killed in the most brutal and horrendous manner over the last two weeks (beaten to death with a bat on front of their owners)!  Since the 23rd of May, 2009, the local governments in those two cities have issued an order to kill all the dogs found on the streets and home. Normal citizens from the very young to working professionals are walking the streets with large poles to bludgeon any dog in their path to death. It has been estimated that in one day, over 6,000 dogs were massacred. As seen in the photos attached, people are smiling and appear to be excited at the thought of beating these animals to death. There are many Chinese that are outraged with this behaviour, and many owners that are deeply heartbroken and helpless as they have to be subjected to watch their own beloved dogs die in front of them. We believe that media coverage is necessary to bring attention to these astrocities, and hopefully we can persuade our government to encourage humane actions towards dogs, rather than savagely beating these animals to death.    Excuses are often made by the government to justify this outrageous behaviour. If one animal is found with rabies, and order is often issued to kill all the dogs within 3km around it. We would like to ask for training assistance to educate our officials on how to humanely euthanize an animal when necessary, and how to prevent these situations by spaying, neutering, and vaccinating pets and using other methods to humanely control the animals. We would also like to have any veterinarians or other experts volunteer to take on this issue with us.        We, the Chinese and Non-Chinese dog lovers all over the world are deeply disturbed, furious and saddened at this merciless behaviour and we are trying our best to stop it! We are PLEADING for your help in urging the Chinese Government to stop this brutal dog butchery! Please help and look into this! We would very much appreciate it if you voice your concerns over the issue! We are very grateful for any possible support and help you might lend to save the dogs in Hei He and Yang Xian!  The rabies that the dogs have is definitely not their fault, it is because of the careless and heartless way that people take care of their dogs that it has resulted to this. This can be prevented by people helping the dogs get rabies vaccinations and by nurturing and taking more efficient care of dogs in China.  More dogs are rapidly on the way to receiving the same future that the other dogs have gotten, if we don’t do anything about this!  Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, we really hope that you take action on this issue.  Sincerely, the fuming and enraged pet lovers of Wenxue city, (web.wenxuecity.com) As of May 23, local government in Han Zhong, in the province of Shan Xi, has issued an order to kill all dogs found on the streets.  Normal citizens from the very young to working professionals are walking the streets with large sticks to bludgeon any dog in sight to death.  It has been estimated that in one day, 6,000 dogs were massacred.  As seen in photos, people are smiling and appear to be excited as they march to beat these animals to death.  There are many Chinese that are outraged with this behavior.  We believe that media coverage is necessary to bring attention to these atrocities, and hopefully influence our government to encourage humane actions toward dogs, rather than savagely beating these animals to death. Excuses are often made by the government to justify this behavior.  If one animal is found with rabies, an order is often issued to kill all dogs.  We would like to ask for training assistance to educate our officials on how to humanely euthanize an animal when necessary, and how to prevent these situations by spaying, neutering, and vaccinating pets and using other methods to humanely control the animals.  Is it possible to have any veterinarians or other experts volunteer to take on this issue with us?  We, as Chinese people all over the world, are shocked and outraged.  Could you please use all of your power and resources to pressure the Chinese government to sees these acts of violence against these dogs.
