Hi all, Chances are you've never heard of Cuthbert, GA, and I had no idea they GAS ALL dogs who enter their shelter. That's right, NO rescue or adoption program at all. Two brave volunteers are working to change this horrible situation. They need reputable rescues to work with, and lots of cross-posting help. They're just starting out and need to get a rescue/adoption program in place first. They're not asking for donations yet. But please get the word out--this place needs rescue help badly.

But please get the word out--this place needs rescue help badly. Here are some photos of dogs currently at the shelter. It's very small--even if only a few rescues can commit to taking 1 dog, that will make a big difference. The city just voted in a new leash law, so there may be more dogs impounded than before, with just a few small runs. *Laurie Montfort is the person to contact if you can help. Her e-mail is: lfmontfort3@ gmail.com (at gmail.com).Laurie wasn't sure whether the shelter takes cats, but we'll find out. If so, they will need help, too. Thank you. months ago did I learn that Cuthbert, GA, has a pound. It has the dubious distinction of being one of thirteen gassing facilities in Georgia. There is NO adoption/rescue program. The animals that go in never come out alive. Beth Brady is working with the mayor of Cuthbert and some of the county commissioners to allow us to find homes for as as many of these dogs as we can. So far, they seem to be receptive to the idea. We are looking for REPUTABLE rescues to partner with us to save these poor, forgotten souls. Cuthbert is in Randolph County in southwest Georgia. At one time, we were, and may still be, the poorest county in Georgia. There are no spay/neuter laws. Unwanted dogs and puppies are abandoned all over the county. At this time there are four dogs in this facility. The time is up for three of them, but Beth thinks that she has bought them some time. We are just two animal lovers with no funds. If you can help us or give us

any suggestions, we would appreciate it. Laurie Montfort lfmontfort3@ gmail.com (at gmail.com)
