Big congratulations to Donny Moss, director, writer and producer of BLINDERS: THE TRUTH BEHIND THE TRADITION. I just received an e-mail from Donny who is on his way back to NYC from LA. This is what he said in part: "I am at LAX on my phone. I did not expect to win because the competition was so good. 1500 attendees. I talked about the issue, and people were cheering. " Well, done, Donny!! The Genesis Awards were begun in 1986 by animal advocate and actress Gretchen Wyler. Wyler believed that rewarding members of the media encouraged them to spotlight more animal issues, thus increasing public awareness and compassion toward animals. It was eventually taken over by the HSUS, which produces the awards ceremony each year. Read more about the award process on their web site. This is really outstanding news to all of us who care so much for the beleaguered carriage horse. It will go a long way to furthering this issue.
