A HUGE thanks to BanOhioDogAuction supporters, Carole Raphaelle-Davis and Jana Kohl, in their continued commitment to help raise awareness of dog auctions, puppy mills, pet stores and the entities that support and keep them in business:

1. Home to the first dog. The Obamas search for a family dog to accompany them to the White House has garnered national attention. Today, a dog named Wema will draw that attention to Fairmont.

"We have a Portuguese water dog," said Cindilee Connor of the Martin County Humane Society. Connor received a call this week f

rom Carole Davis, an animal rights activist, actress, author and spokesperson for Companion Animal Protection Society, based in Los Angeles. The organization found Wema online and wanted more information. They asked Cindilee to have the dog professionally groomed and photographed.

2. Baby's Bill. As many of you are aware, Jana and her tripod puppy mill survivor, Baby, have traveled extensively speaking out against the horrors of mass breeding facilities. Jana and Baby were instrumental in the introduction of proposed legislation at the federal level; HR 6949 - Puppy Uniform Protection Statute introduced by Rep. Sam Farr (Cal.) and S. 3519 - Puppy Uniform Protection Statute introduced20by Sen. Richard Durbin (IL)..
